A Russian MP has asked President Dmitry Medvedev to investigate claims by a regional president that he has met aliens on board a spaceship.
THE aliens are out there and Earth had better watch out, at least according to Stephen Hawking. He has suggested that extraterrestrials are almost certain to exist — but that instead of seeking them out, humanity should be doing all it that can to avoid any contact.
Is this the first official weaponization of space ?
An interesting article on Russia Today.
Super-fast spacecraft and a giant, humming triangle hovering above the house of Michael Howard, the former Home Secretary, feature in the latest release of UFO-related files at the Public Records Office.
Almost 6,000 pages of declassified files are released online today, the majority covering 1994 to 2000. Many sightings contained crude drawings.
Hundreds of pages of secret files on New Zealand UFO sightings will be released by the military this year.
The files include reports of UFO sightings from 1979 to 1984 and references to the Kaikoura sighting of December 1978.
The files are held by Archives New Zealand and were to have been made public this month, but the Defence Force is removing personal information from them to comply with the Privacy Act.
Geoffrey Robertson QC said the 1689 Bill of Rights, which was passed at the same time as the Glorious Revolution, specificially prohibited "cruel and unusual punishments".
He said this would almost certainly apply to the case of Mr McKinnon, who is wanted in America to face charges of hacking into Pentagon and Nasa computers.
If Mr McKinnon is extradited, it will be because MPs had allowed the "weasel words" of the European Convention on Human Rights to replace the country's historic Bill of Rights when dealing with individual freedoms, he said.
The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, which contains a four-million-pixel camera, will photograph the entire sky every six months. Most of the light from stars and other objects like planets in the universe is doubly invisible. It comes in the form of infrared, or heat radiation, with wavelengths too long for our eyes to pick up. Moreover, most infrared wavelengths do not penetrate the Earth’s atmosphere to get to our unseeing eyes.
A leading astrophysicist who has worked on space missions claims that he and his colleagues are in contact with extraterrestrials who are "living among us." And they don't like what they see.
Latchezar Filipov, head of the Space Research Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, is causing global ripples after researching crop circles around the world.
Computer hacker Gary McKinnon is at serious risk of suicide, relatives said today, after the home secretary rejected a last-ditch attempt to prevent his extradition to the US.
In a letter today Alan Johnson ordered McKinnon's removal to the US on charges of breaching US military and Nasa computers, despite claims by his lawyers that extradition would make the 43-year old's death "virtually certain".
