More fake news from the mainstream

The Nation has published an article titled "The Rock-Star Appeal of Modern Monetary Theory" and in the article it is stated "The possibility of a $1 trillion coin represented more than mere monetary sophistry: It drove home their foundational point that fiat currency is a social construct, and that there are therefore no fiscal limits on how much a sovereign currency-issuing nation can spend".

That line about "a sovereign currency-issuing nation" is interesting as it gives the impression that America is one such country. America is not a sovereign currency-issuing nation however. America's money is printed and issued by the "Federal Reserve", a privately owned bank. There is nothing Federal about it, IT IS NOT OWNED OR CONTROLLED BY THE GOVERNMENT OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
